Bryce Quinlan loves her life. Every night is a party, and Bryce is going to savour all the pleasures Lunathion - also known as Crescent City - has to offer. But when a brutal murder shakes the very foundations of the city, Bryce's world comes crashing down.
Two years later, Bryce still haunts the city's most notorious nightclubs - but seeking only oblivion now. Then the murderer attacks again. And when an infamous Fallen angel, Hunt Athalar, is assigned to watch her every footstep, Bryce knows she can't forget any longer.
As Bryce and Hunt fight to unravel the mystery and their own dark pasts, the threads they tug ripple through the underbelly of the city, across warring continents and down to the deepest levels of Hel, where things that have been sleeping for millennia are beginning to stir ...
With unforgettable characters and page-turning suspense, this richly inventive new fantasy series delves into the heartache of loss, the price of freedom - and the power of love.

My Review
Was a little slow at the start, and I didn’t think I would love it as much as I did. The story developed and I immediately knew I was going to love this world as I explored further. I devoured every last word after my initial hesitation, so make sure you push through if you also struggle with the difference in starting pace after her other works. The world building was incredible, so much depth and had me imagining myself roaming the streets alongside the main characters.
The inclusion of the multi species together in this story is what really sealed it for me, SJMs other series haven’t done this. The way it was deployed here was breathtaking and had me holding my breath at every encounter. This book truly touched my heart, in a different way than ACoTaR and ToG did. Makes me really sad that there’s only 2 more books in this collection. 😱
I feel like I could gobble up every single book she writes in the future and it would still never be enough.
I want more, more, more.
