Leena Sperling has fallen into darkness. Darkness has a name...
ZAND BYRONHe’s larger than life. He’s also a deeply dangerous, twisted soul, a textbook psychopath. But, somehow...She makes him
"You can run, Leena. But I will find you."
Leena: When I arrived to the City of Souls, the tiny cemetery town wrapping the Bay Area foothills where Moonvine Manor is located, I had no idea what to expect or how insane my life would become after moving into the former, Queen Anne, funeral home that belonged to my missing sister. I should have known that being greeted by a tombstone-shaped granite welcome sign was either a sick joke or a bad omen. But I could never have predicted that I would fall in love with the darkness.
Zand: I don’t want to ever stop making her cry. Her tears are full of human feelings, and I love the taste. She makes me feel, but part of me wants to end the human in her that brings out the human in me. In a heartbeat, I could make her nightmares infinitely darker. *This is a dark, gothic romance. My Review
Thank you to Booksprout for providing me with an ARC of this delicious book for review.
So I’m not sure why others disliked this books quirky chaotic ways, I found them very exciting.
I absolutely loved the MMC, his broody, sullen, narcissistic, psychopathic traits screamed predator from the get go. I ate that up!
The FMC, a stubborn, brazen character who was training to be a psychiatrist/psychologist, but was unaware of her own borderline issues was simple, yet very well displayed. Most do no have self awareness of their own problems.
I loved the steamy scenes, I found the terminology quirky and that made it endearing for me, it was different and beats the same old words used over and over by other authors, however there is some slight kink to be aware of, so make sure you check the trigger warnings folks.
The beautiful spooky world of MoonVine, has captured my heart, it gave me sort of Ravenswood/six feet under vibes, but with vampires, and mafia cult like vibes.
I believe there is to be a 5th book, so I hope that clears my head over the ending for book 4.
This was truly rather different, dark and twisty (just how I like ’em), I’d get bored if i had to read the same monotonous drivel over and over.
If you like dark romance, vampires, slight kink, historical elements, spice, morally grey characters, possessive alphahole males, mysterious surroundings and people, then you should give this book a read. 💀👻🌶️💨
Though the chapters/story seemed to move quickly and through multiple POV, with Introduction later on to new characters, I found myself wanting more of the MMCs side. A few niggly plot inconsistencies, but it adds to the mystique, like do you really know what’s going on *cue twilight zone music* 🦇💀👻
I didn’t let it bother me, neither should you. It’s a big recommendation from me for the Gold Blood Prophecies, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. 🤷🏻♀️
A solid 4 stars from me.
