When you have a destiny, could death stop you?

Calixta is a successful Madam and owner of the Shining Star, the best Brothel in Talbert's port city. However, she died, saving the lives of two innocent people. She woke at the antechamber to heaven but there she met twenty of the most unlikely of beings. They sent her back to the land of the living, with some unique gifts. She has a task to do; mages had to be protected. Evil was after her; her options were limited. She must fight back. She has the power, but could she overcome her place in society?
The chase to destroy her was on; Evil wanted her dead once and for all.

Vanquisher Dreyden found Calixta in the worst of conditions. He helped her, but he was an arrogant fool. She almost roasted him alive.

Will Evil destroy what these two Vanquishers are trying to create? Mages, the bringers of peace and order to chaos, must be protected. However, Calixta and Dreyden are running for their lives. Will they find all the members of their team? Will the next time she dies be the last?

My Review

I received this book as part of an ARC for book 2, so thank you for that. As i loathe being chucked in the deep end with no back story on a sequel ARC 😂
The book started a little slow, but it quickly gained a fast, exciting, adventurous pace.
The world that Omayra has created here is so different to what I am used to, and I absolutely love it! Who would have thought prossies & angels & demons make for such an excellent read?! The author has fully developed the characters into believable portraits of ladies of the night, the angels/godly beings were peculiar but loveable and the demons had me laughing with their rage at failing at every corner, the shenanigans they attempted.
The feelings I felt toward the near end of the book when the virtues did the thing. My eyes started watering. I truly felt for the characters. My heart yearns for a happy ending for our young archer.
I’m going to recommend this book to all who will listen, as I feel people are missing out here!!
The story gets a solid 4* from me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only negative I have is there were a few instances of misspelled words, and grammatical errors.
Now.. onto book 2: for warriors! 🔥🗡️ I’m sure I will absolutely bloody love it!

Be aware the book contains mention of some sensitive subjects including miscarriage, rape, abortion, sex slave trade, murder, incest?, child loss

Although it is a fantastic adventure fantasy romance journey, it does touch upon those issues briefly. It does not detract from the story. It helps balance the world, just because they are fantasy characters doesn’t mean they do not suffer as we do. Be they Fae, elf, mage or human. We are kin. 💜🔥
