My Thoughts

This book has potential.

It’s not written well considering the author’s academic career. Which is huge shame.
Despite its many plot holes, and some very loose points that are barely whiffed at, it does offer a almost enjoyable space adventure vibe.

I did enjoy the premise of the story. It just lacks a lot of substance.

I feel like it’s stuck somewhere between a children’s/teens age book.
If the book was structured better, and contained more depth, more YA fantasy/sci-fi elements, more world building then it would be a far more successful story.

The utter lack of these things, just leave you wanting more.
Not in the I can’t wait to read the rest kinda way, more of an you need to give me more in this book to make it enjoyable way.

I currently can’t place it properly into a category to sum it up.
It’s only a short story. I wanted to like it and perhaps could have, had it been able to provide the much needed sci-fi vibes I expect from a book and if it had been written more for its intended audience.

I kept waiting for some stand out element that would make up for the lack of everything else.

It never came.

I did enjoy the idea of space travel itself, I thought that was a positive.
There wasn’t enough world building, nor enough vibes for the characters for me to truly enjoy the book sadly.

Sadly, I cannot recommend this.
