My Thoughts

I have fallen in love with this series.
This book has so many different themes that blend together seamlessly.
The story has a central theme of an anti-magic fueled war, which spans over 2 decades.
We experience multiple glimpses of the war during this time, filling in some very important details for what is upcoming for us.

We have the evil villain, the antihero, the found/lost family theme playing a huge role here.
The journey they take, both breaks and restores parts of the characters hearts.
Forging new bonds over a perilous trek on the sea of Zemira.

The majority of the tale is told over the course of a seabound journey, where our FMC grows and develops into herself, her powers and becomes this badass lovable heroine who I would follow in a heartbeat.

The book is full of steamy romance and love, friendship and trust.
There are a lot of plot twists and I adored them all, they kept me almost jumping out of my skin with tension.
I can honestly say I haven’t enjoyed a series this much in a while.
I absolutely devoured this book.

The story is thick with tension, and carefully thought-out characters.
Even the bad guys, you respect their evilness and hate them at the same time.

The good guys, a ragtag bunch of pirates, are the most hilarious and delightful sidekicks I’ve experienced.
The MMC, our FMC love interest, is absolutely swoonworthy, a handsome pirate that I got captain hook vibes from (once upon a time TV show version).

I involuntarily picture him when our MMC appears on page.

I found that this book really encapsulated the true essence of the finished story, now they were out of troubled water, they were free to live their lives as they would choose too, without fear of consequence or fear from an unjust society.

This book was off the charts spicy.
So I thoroughly recommend to my fellow smut sisters.

My Favourite Quote

To sail wherever the sea of Zemira takes us.

What an utterly beautiful sentiment for this series.

An epic ending for this beautiful tale, of fighting the unjust and clawing the way back to the good life.
The one they were rightfully meant to have.
Yet there is more adventures to be had, and that’s just what I want.

I didn’t want this book to end.

A fantastic example of a swashbuckling adventure Romantasy.
What a mouthful that is.

To say i’m excited about this, is an understatement of epic proportions.
Given how quickly I devoured this book, I know the second and third installments will be my new love.

Blade has gained a new fan.
I cannot wait to see what comes after this series, it’s going to be incredible.
I have no doubts.

Now the Zemiran sea is taking me directly to the next book; King Elijah.
